Each year the MHSFCA in connection with the Aleppo Shriners of Massachusetts, co-sponsor an Eastern Massachusetts All-Star Football Game.  For the past 30 years, players from the North have played against players from the South in the Shriners All-Star Football Classic.

All proceeds from the game are donated to the Shriners Hospital in Boston. The association is proud to have donated one million dollars over the years to this worthy charity. We are proud to return to Gillette
Stadium for the 30th edition of the game June 15th.  We thank the Kraft family and Patriots Place for hosting the game.

In order to participate in the game, a player must be nominated by his coach. Nomination forms are due in early December.

The coaching staffs are selected at the December meeting of the MHSFCA Executive Board.  Only head coaches are able to coach in the game and can only coach in it once every five years.  The players from each squad are then selected by the coaching staffs, sometime in January.

Paul Costello serves as the association liason to the Aleppo Shriners Temple.  Bob Bancroft is the liason to the South Squad and Al Costabile is the liason to the North Squad.

WHO ARE THE SHRINERS

Shriners is an international fraternity of approximately 500,000  members throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada and Panama.  A network of 22 hospitals provides expert, no-cost orthopedic and burn care to children under 18.  For 75 years, the Shrine has operated a network of specialized hospitals  that treat children with orthopedic problems, burns and spinal cord
injuries, up  to their 18th birthday, free of charge.

The Shrine was founded in 1872 by a  group of 13 men belonging to the Masonic Order.  It was originally established  to provide fun and fellowship for its members.  But as the organization grew,  its members decided to dedicate their efforts to helping others by establishing  an official Shrine philanthropy — a network of  specialized hospitals that have  provided expert medical care to more than
700,000 children, free of charge.

If you know a child in need of help, Shriners Hospitals might be able to help, call at 1-800-237-5055.
